Osteoradionecrosis
Bone death caused by prior radiation therapy.
Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is the breakdown of bone — most often the jaw — months or years after radiation therapy, due to lost blood supply. HBOT helps by rebuilding vascularity, and is used before dental surgery in irradiated jaws to prevent it.
