Answer
Most people find it surprisingly relaxing. You recline in the chamber and, as the pressure rises over the first few minutes, your ears feel full — like a plane descending. You clear them the same way (yawning, swallowing), and a technician coaches you through it. After that, you simply breathe normally for 60–90 minutes while watching a movie or napping. A technician monitors you the entire time. Coming back to normal pressure at the end takes a few more minutes of ear-clearing, and then you go about your day.
