LESSON 1
What hyperbaric oxygen therapy actually is
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) means breathing 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The pressure lets your blood dissolve far more oxygen than normal — reaching injured tissue that ordinary breathing can't. Over a course of relaxed 60–90 minute sessions, that extra oxygen helps your body grow new blood vessels, fight infection, and heal.
Why pressure matters
At sea level your red blood cells are already nearly full of oxygen. Under pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into the blood plasma — the liquid part — which can travel where red cells struggle to go. That's the whole mechanism.
